The head of the U.S. Border Patrol says he disagrees with President Biden’s decision regarding border security and border wall construction. Republican lawmakers held a Homeland Security Committee hearing in Pharr Wednesday, questioning Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz.
Ortiz said the Biden administration has torn down “perfectly good infrastructure systems” that should have been left alone, especially in the Del Rio area. Ortiz also said no when asked if the Department of Homeland Security had operational control of the entire border.
Democratic members of the committee boycotted the hearing, claiming that Republicans were only trying to score political points by holding it outside of Washington, DC.
