Bus Driver Shortages Hit States


A bus driver shortage is impacting kids returning to in-person learning in several states. The shortage of drivers is leading Massachusetts to bring in the National Guard for help.

Cities in Ohio, Virginia and elsewhere report similar shortages that are leading to kids sometimes waiting hours for a bus, or worse, waiting for a bus that never arrives.

The National School Transportation Association says COVID has stretched the bus driver ranks thin, much like many industries.
