Buyer Reportedly Found For Abandoned Sears Store At Valley Vista

A big empty space at Harlingen’s Valle Vista Mall is reportedly being filled. A Dallas-based company, which has been buying vacant Sears stores at malls across Texas, has purchased the Sears space at Valle Vista.

The Valley Morning Star reports the purchase was brokered by Coldwell Banker Commercial in McAllen working with the mall owner, Kohan Retail Investment Group.

An official with New York-based Kohan Retail wouldn’t name the Dallas company that purchased the 90-thousand square-foot space, only saying it was a national company with national connections.

The financially-troubled Valle Vista Mall came under the ownership of Kohan Retail about two years ago, a few months before Sears closed its store there.
