By The City of Starbase is getting more control over Boca Chica Beach. Cameron County commissioners approved a measure granting the city more authority over the beach on Tuesday.
Starbase will be able to make rules for beachfront construction and special events, and will be required to maintain and clean those portions of the beach. Starbase commissioners are expected to approve the agreement during a meeting later today.
