The Texas Hill Country summer camp at the center of last year’s deadly flooding is filing for bankruptcy.
Court papers show that Camp Mystic has debts exceeding ten million dollars, with assets totaling less than half-a-million. The flash floods at the all-girls Christian retreat on July 4th killed 25 young campers, two teenage counselors, and one camp director.
The camp’s owners previously announced that they would not be open this summer while lawsuits and investigations made their way through court.
