Cause Sought For McAllen Recycling Facility Fire


Investigators are working to find what sparked a fire that tore through a recycling facility west of downtown McAllen.

The blaze broke out at around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon – and fueled by paper, plastic, and wind, the flames burned for about three hours before fire crews were able to put them out. No injuries were reported.

Authorities are also working to tally up the damage to the facility on Business 83 west of 23rd Street.
