CDC Releases Studies Showing Enforcing School Masking Reduces COVID-19 Spread

The CDC is releasing several studies showing that enforcing mask-wearing in schools helps reduce the spread of COVID-19. One of the studies showed 113 of the 191 COVID outbreaks that occurred between mid-July through August were in schools that did not enforce mask mandates.

Another study examined the first week of school in more than 500 counties. It showed about 16 COVID cases per 100-thousand children in schools that required kids to wear masks versus more than 36 cases per 100-thousand in schools with no mask rule.
