The man accused of murdering conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk had a court appearance Monday as the case moves forward in Utah.

Tyler Robinson participated in a virtual hearing where a judge stopped short of deciding whether future proceedings will be open to the media.

Media attorneys argue limited access could undermine public trust, while Robinson’s defense team says coverage could taint the jury pool. Prosecutors have said they intend to seek the death penalty.
