More than 300-thousand students in the nation’s third largest school district are about to wake up and head back to class. They missed five days when teachers walked out after voting to switch to remote learning over the COVID surge.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot revealed on Monday a deal had been reached for new protocols. And then yesterday, she tested positive for coronavirus. She credits her mild symptoms to being vaccinated.
