A Chinese woman has been sentenced to federal prison for possession of child pornography. Jinyi Zheng was 18 years old when she crossed the border near Hidalgo in February.
Federal investigators charged her after finding that her phone contained multiple videos that met the definition of child pornography. She agreed to plead guilty in June so that prosecutors would drop a charge that called for a minimum five-year sentence.
Zheng was sentenced yesterday to two years in prison and will spend five years on supervised release if she remains in the United States.
