A San Antonio City Council member is accepting a plea deal after her arrest last summer for DWI. At a Tuesday hearing, Ivalis Meza Gonzalez pleaded “no contest” to the lesser charge of obstruction of a highway.

Meza Gonzalez was sentenced to nine months of deferred adjudication. If she completes it successfully, her case will be dismissed without a conviction. The plea deal also includes a one-thousand-dollar fine, an alcohol and drug evaluation, 24 hours of community service, and court costs.
