A softball coach is facing assault charges in McAllen after allegedly pushing down an umpire during a recent game.

Joel Gonzalez reportedly became upset during a Saturday game between teams in the Protect Our Nation’s Youth International Softball League. He was ejected after arguing with the female umpire, and the game was called when Gonzalez refused to leave the field.

Video of the confrontation shows the umpire falling to the ground after someone ran across the field and bumped into her. Gonzalez was arrested after the game, and the league issued a statement saying he will not be allowed to coach.
