Contractors ID’d As Victims Of La Porte Chemical Leak

Officials are identifying two contractors who were killed in an industrial chemical leak in La Porte.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences says 32-year-old Shawn Kuhleman of Arlington and 36-year-old Dustin Day of Fort Hood died in the accident on Tuesday.

Dozens of others were injured when 100-thousand pounds of acetic acid were released at the LyondellBasell plant on Miller Cut-Off road. The cause of the leak is still under investigation.
