Cornyn Meets With RGV Political, Business, Education Leaders

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn says he’s excited by what he sees happening in the Rio Grande valley. The Texas Republican met with Cameron County business and civic leaders for a roundtable at the Port of Brownsville on Thursday.

Local elected officials grumbled about the U.S. government’s ongoing policy limiting “non-essential travel” from Mexico as a response to the pandemic. Harlingen Mayor Chris Boswell and Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez were among others at the meeting. Cornyn had toured SpaceX earlier in the day.
