Senator John Cornyn says he’ll support getting rid of the filibuster if necessary to pass a voter ID bill.

The announcement marks a change from Cornyn’s support of the filibuster as he seeks President Donald Trump’s endorsement in the GOP runoff against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Paxton has said he’d think about dropping out of the race if Senate Republicans drop the filibuster and pass the SAVE America Act. Trump has described the voter ID bill as his top priority.
