COVID-19 Hospitalizations In RGV Reaching Levels Not Seen Since Summer


COVID-19 hospitalizations in the Rio Grande Valley are reaching levels not seen since last summer.

According to the Monitor, hospitalizations in the Lower Rio Grande Valley Trauma Service Area reached 607 this week. That’s an 80-percent increase from last month and the highest number of hospitalizations since the last week in August.

New cases of COVID-19 are also surging, and 11 new deaths from the virus were reported in the area Thursday.
