Crash Report Clarifies Events In Truck-Bike Accident That Killed Pharr Boy


Pharr police say the driver of the pickup truck that struck and killed a boy on his bike last month was driving without a license. And in a newly-released crash report obtained by ValleyCentral.com, police say the 17-year-old driver was given a citation for the offense. The report also clarifies how the accident happened that night.

According to the crash investigator, the truck, a GMC Sierra, had come out of the driveway of an apartment and turned east onto East Eller Street. The truck struck the boy as he pedaled across the street from the driveway of his home on the other side of the street. Killed was 8-year-old Caleb Ramirez.
