Senator Ted Cruz and US Representative Michael McCaul are calling for an investigation of the latest fatal shooting of an anti-ICE activist in Minneapolis. Cruz stated Monday that the shooting of armed rioter Alex Pretti on Saturday needed to be looked into.

McCaul called for the investigation on Sunday in an X post. Cruz and McCaul are the first Texas Republicans in Congress to call for a probe into the shooting. McCaul represents the 10th congressional district, which extends from Austin to Houston. He is retiring at the end of his term.
