The Texas republican said on social media that they pose a “threat” to “Americans and American national security.” Cruz has been pushing for the designation his entire career. If passed, it would freeze their assets.
The Brotherhood was founded back in the 1920s, in Egypt, where it is now considered a terrorist organization. It has evolved into a political movement that promotes Sharia Law.
