Congressman Henry Cuellar says immigration enforcement is hurting the South Texas building industry. Cuellar addressed the economic impact of ICE raids during Monday’s South Texas Builders Symposium in McAllen.

The Democratic congressman said raids targeting non-criminal workers are affecting every part of the building industry, including suppliers and lenders. He says he is working to expand the H-2B visa program for seasonal workers, adding that he’s hoping to be part of a bipartisan solution to the problem.
