Eight Texas Democrats in Congress are calling for the reinstatement of a federal grant for the state’s Solar for All program.

Last year, the Environmental Protection Agency awarded nearly 250 million dollars to a group of local governments and nonprofits, led by Harris County.

The Trump administration’s EPA rescinded the grants last month, considering them wasteful spending. Many Democrats claim the move is illegal. Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee is looking into possible legal avenues to restore the funding.
