President Trump has put a priority on domestic manufacturing. There’s now a push to include prescription drugs, which experts say would bring down prices. Dr. Clifford Porter with the Texas Public Policy Foundation says most drugs come from China. And, in his opinion, they’re not well-regulated. So domestic manufacturing of drugs, he says, would also improve outcomes for patients. He argues for a “manufacturing quota,” where drug makers could bid for the right to produce high-demand medications.
