Once again, a steady surge of teenagers and children from Central America into Texas is causing the migrants to be crammed into CBP tent facilities, as well as Border Patrol stations not equipped to handle them. And according to immigration attorneys, the migrants are being held in packed conditions for a week or longer, without adequate sleeping and personal hygiene necessities, in apparent violation of the Flores agreement.
The situation is similar to what occurred during the Trump administration, although the migrants are being held behind glass partitions rather than chain-link structures that were condemned as cages.
The information comes from attorneys allowed to speak with some of the migrants being held at the large tent facility in Donna, and reported by The Associated Press. The AP notes, however, the attorneys continue to be denied entry into the facility.
