Downtown Buildings Go Dark to Save Electricity


Dallas’ famous skyline went dark Monday night as businesses across the state looked for ways to save energy during the winter storm.

Mayor Eric Johnson announced changes would be made to help conserve electricity after residents expressed frustration on social media that more should be done to save energy.

Downtown Dallas Incorporated requested all downtown building turn off their exterior lighting. Reunion Tower went dark for only the third time in its history. Downtown buildings in Fort Worth also went dark last night.
