DPS Awaiting Blood-Alcohol Results Following 2-Vehicle Crash In Starr County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is waiting to determine if a driver was drunk when she crashed into a trooper’s car in Roma over the weekend.

The DPS says the driver was heading east on Highway 83 early Saturday morning in Roma when her vehicle drifted into the westbound lanes and smashed into the trooper’s patrol vehicle. Both drivers were hospitalized and both were said to be in stable condition.

In a news release, the DPS says the female driver displayed symptoms of impairment. A blood sample was taken to determine if she was intoxicated.
