A manslaughter charge has been filed against the driver who struck and killed a woman in south Harlingen this week. 27-year-old Daniel Wirsche had been held for questioning by Harlingen police arriving on the scene.
Police say the investigation showed Wirsche had been driving in a reckless manner, and he was arrested and jailed on a $30,000 bond. 65-year-old Edna Fay Lasley was walking in a shopping area along South 77 Sunshine Strip south of South Carolina Street when she was struck at around 7:30 Monday morning.
