Edcouch Police Officer Shoots Theft Suspect Four Times


The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an Edcouch police officer shot a theft suspect multiple times. The police department was called early Sunday after a reported theft at a Dollar General on Santa Rosa Avenue.

The police chief says an officer made contact with the suspect, who then pulled a knife and tried to attack the officer. The unidentified officer shot the suspect four times. The suspect is in the hospital in stable condition following the shooting.
