A recent audit of Edinburg school district buildings found that many campuses had exterior doors that wouldn’t lock. Information about a recent intruder audit by state officials was revealed during a safety and security committee meeting yesterday.
The audit found that doors at 33 of the district’s 45 campuses wouldn’t lock. Auditors also faulted the district for having vendors who left doors at least partially open after making visits. The school district’s police chief says the issues uncovered by the audit are being addressed.
