An Edinburg CISD student is facing federal charges after being caught with a gun on campus. Eighteen-year-old Kinzey Lira was arrested at Edinburg North High School on Tuesday.
Investigators say an unloaded firearm and a magazine with ten rounds of ammunition were found in Lira’s backpack following an anonymous tip.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives interviewed Lira and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm in a school zone. Lira will make his first court appearance later today.
