More than eight-thousand South Texas households have been approved for some type of federal financial assistance following severe storms and flooding in late March.
Update figures from FEMA show that the agency has approved over 54-million dollars in assistance for households in Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy and Starr counties.
The Small Business Administration has also approved nearly eight-million in disaster loans. Over 77-hundred people have visited FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in the Rio Grande Valley since they began opening late last month.
