By The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after several dozen cattle were found dead in rural La Joya. Deputies were called to a property on Jarachinas Road on Friday night after a report about dead cattle.
The property owner permitted a search, and deputies reportedly found about 50 dead cattle. Other cattle on the property appeared to be malnourished.
The sheriff’s office is trying to determine if charges should be filed against the property owner.
