First Of Three Suspects Arraigned In Weslaco Doctor’s Murder

One of three men charged with the murder of a Weslaco doctor has pleaded not guilty to his alleged role in the killing.

Authorities say 20-year-old Luis Antonio Valenzuela was driving the car that had tried to block Dr. John Dominguez from backing out of his office parking lot the afternoon of November 7th last year. Dominguez was able to get away but as he drove off a second man in the suspect car jumped out and opened fire. Dominguez collided with another vehicle and responding police found him dead.

Investigators believe Valenzuela and two other men were part of a plot to extort Dominguez. Valenzuela remains behind bars on bonds totaling $1 million.
