Fishing Vessel Worker Suffers Seizure, Gets Airlifted To Corpus Hospital


A sailor on a fishing boat suffers a medical event and gets airlifted to a hospital in Corpus Christi. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter transported the 52-year-old sailor who suffered a seizure to Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area on Saturday afternoon.

The patient was working on the New King Fisher vessel in waters near Port Mansfield when he fell ill. Lieutenant Jamel Chokr. who is a pilot with the U.S. Coast Guard’s Air Station Corpus Christi, says he and his crew are thankful they got the sailor to the hospital in time. The ailing seaman is in stable condition.
