The Texas legislature is addressing the deadly Fourth of July floods. A bill to add warning sirens to flash-flood prone areas has passed the House unanimously.

The Texas Water Board will be in charge of developing the plan for the Hill Country. There will be grants to pay for the sirens but counties are in charge of maintenance. At least 135-people were killed in July’s flooding, which started before dawn.
