By Former Republican Congresswoman Mayra Flores has decided she wants a rematch with Democratic Congressman Vicente Gonzalez.
Flores announced Wednesday that she is no longer running for the 28th District congressional seat currently held by Laredo Democrat Henry Cuellar. She will instead challenge Gonzalez for the 34th District seat next year.
Flores won a special election to represent the district in 2024, but lost to Gonzalez in the general election later that year.
