Former Border Patrol Agent Sentenced For Drug Trafficking


A former Border Patrol agent from Edinburg will spend nearly 14 years in prison for his role in a drug-smuggling ring. Daniel Polanco was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court.

Polanco was found guilty last year of abusing his position as a law enforcement officer to aid the movement of cocaine through southern Texas. He also received a six-month sentence on a separate charge of threatening a federal agent following a court hearing
