The former city manager of Edcouch is pleading guilty to a federal bribery charge. De La Cruz and former Edcouch Mayor Pro-Tem Rene Flores were arrested on bribery charges in September.
Flores was accused of taking kickbacks from a business, while De La Cruz reportedly facilitated those payments. Flores pled guilty in January, while De La Cruz entered his guilty plea yesterday. De La Cruz will be sentenced in July.
