A former candidate for chair of the Hidalgo County Republican Party has been arrested for theft. Lina Marie Garza was arraigned on Wednesday and released on a 150-thousand-dollar bond.
Garza was arrested in May for allegedly being part of a scheme to steal money from multiple people between 2023 and June of this year. She’s due back in court in November.
