Former Valley Cop Convicted Of Helping Drug Cartels Loses Appeal


A former Valley police officer serving time on a federal drug conviction loses his appeal for release.

Valley Morning Star reported Sunday that a federal appeals court has denied the appeal from Giovani Hernandez.

The former Progreso Police sergeant is serving a 20-year sentence in federal prison after being convicted last year of helping facilitate and protect Mexican drug cartel cocaine trafficking.
