There is a new warning about what is called “gas station heroin.” The Texas Department of State Health Services says a concentrated version of kratom is becoming more popular. It’s sold as a liquid extract, a powder or even in gummies.
So far this year, the Texas Poison Center Network has received 192 reports of people getting sick. That’s nearly double last year. Kratom is marketed as natural pain reliever, but it does not have FDA-approval.
