A recent study says many Gen Zers are getting financial support from their parents. The 2026 Wells Fargo Money Study says 64-percent of parents with Gen Z children say their kids still rely on them financially, whether for money, housing or other support. Over half of those parents say that support is hurting their own finances.

A 2021 study from the University of Buffalo and The New School found that the amount of Black adults who receive parental assistance is much lower than that of white adults.
