Gender Reassignment Surgery Could Be Banned In Texas


Texas is looking to ban gender reassignment surgery for children. State Senator Bob Hall of Rockwall says the procedure should be off limits to everybody under the age of 18.

Under his bill, physicians who perform the surgery on children would lose their medical license. The United Kingdom recently changed its laws. The High Court ruled that children under the age of 16 are “unlikely” to be mature enough to consent to gender reassignment.
