US Representative Tony Gonzales and his challenger Brandon Herrera are in a GOP primary runoff in Texas’ Congressional District 23. Gonzales is facing calls to resign over claims that he had an affair with an aide who killed herself last year.
The three-term congressman says he won’t step down. Gonzales is in a rematch with Herrera, a YouTube influencer and gun manufacturer who lost the 2024 primary to Gonzales by fewer than 400 votes. President Donald Trump has endorsed Gonzales.
