GOP-Led Voting Bills Make Way To House, Senate Chambers

The fight resumes in the Texas Legislature over new restrictions on voting in the Lone Star State.

A Texas House committee advanced a GOP-supported bill to the full chamber early yesterday morning, and a Senate committee did the same later in the day.

This comes after lawmakers listened to testimony from Texans both in favor and opposition to the bills that would place limits on voting hours, block election officials from sending vote-by-mail applications, and ban drive-thru voting. The Texas Tribune reports the full chamber could vote on the bills this week.
