The SAVE America Act, which would enact strict voter eligibility requirements, has stalled on Capitol Hill. Texas Congressman Pat Fallon blamed his fellow Republicans for not pushing hard enough.

The SAVE Act requires proof-of-citizenship to register to vote. Democrats and some Republicans oppose it because a driver’s license would not be good enough. Non-citizens are already barred from voting in federal elections.
