There’s new legislation to cut off paychecks for lawmakers during the ongoing government shutdown. It was introduced by Republicans but has bipartisan support from democrats like Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar. He called on more members to “do what I did.”
Congressmen earn, on average, about 174-thousand dollars a year. The bill would that in escrow until the shutdown ends.
