By Several parents whose children died during last year’s deadly Hill Country flood say Camp Mystic’s license to operate shouldn’t be renewed.
The parents have asked the Texas Department of State Health Services to deny Camp Mystic’s license renewal. The camp’s owners reportedly plan to reopen their Cypress Lake location for summer 2026, which is not the same location where 27 campers and counselors died last July 4th.
So far the agency says it’s received more than 200 emails opposing Mystic’s license renewal, and only eight in favor.
