Frontline food industry employees in Texas would like their vaccinations to be prioritized. Texas isn’t one of the 13 states where grocery workers can be vaccinated now.
The United Food and Commercial Workers says more than 77-thousand frontline food workers nationwide have been infected or exposed to the coronavirus, and about 400 have died.
The million-member union says food industry workers should receive hazard pay as long as pandemic infections and deaths are at peak levels.
