Harlingen Child Dies From COVID-19

COVID-19 has claimed the life of another child in the Rio Grande Valley. Cameron County Public Health says a girl from Harlingen under the age of 9 died from the coronavirus-contracted disease.

The child was one of 5 residents of Cameron County listed on the county’s COVID death report released Tuesday. A Brownsville woman in her 20’s also lost her battle with the respiratory disease. Only one of the five patients had been vaccinated.

The total number of Cameron County residents who’ve died of COVID-19 now stands at 1,968 – the seventh highest COVID death toll in the state.
