Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth says Tuesday’s primary elections had the highest voter turnout in the county’s history.
Hudspeth says more than 700 people were still in line waiting to cast a ballot as of 9 p.m., two hours after the polls officially closed. She says she estimates more than half a million ballots will be cast in this primary.
Hudspeth says the huge turnout means election results will be later than usual.
